Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned. Oli had become a subject of national and international criticism following the death of at least 21 Gen Z protesters.

More than 300 injured youths are being treated in hospitals across the country. Preliminary hospital reports indicate that at least 50 of them are in critical condition.

Gen Z youths have continued their protests in major cities across the country, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Bharatpur, Itahari, Biratnagar, and Damak. District Administration in several of these cities have imposed curfews, restricting gatherings. However, youth participation in the protests is high on the second day as well.

Protesters have stormed and burnt the residences of ministers and political leaders, including but not limited to the immediate past Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Energy Minister Dipak Kumar Khadka, Information Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, and Maoist Supremo Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda).
