Due to heavy rain and adverse weather conditions, travel has been halted across the country. Both domestic and international flights have been disrupted. Morning flights scheduled to Lukla were cancelled due to low visibility, which prevented takeoffs and landings. Flights to Bharatpur and Tumlingtar airports have been suspended.
Arrivals at Pokhara Airport have been halted, though departures remain open. A Shree Airlines flight from Biratnagar to Kathmandu was diverted back to Biratnagar. A Nepal Airlines flight arriving in Kathmandu from Doha, Qatar, has been diverted to New Delhi, India.
Similarly, an Air India flight from Delhi was diverted to Lucknow. Even the road Daunne section of the Chitwan- Butwal route has turned one-way. Authorities have also requested people to avoid travelling in these weather conditions.
