Farmers in the Tanahun district have earned more than USD 31.2 million from orange sales this year, showing an increase compared to last year. According to agriculture officials, farmers earned about USD 3.1 million more than the previous year, when total sales were around USD 29.2 million.
Orange farming is carried out across 1,670 hectares of land in the district, with production recorded from 977 hectares this season. Farmers harvested a total of 11,821.7 metric tonnes of oranges. Out of this, 5,821.9 metric tonnes were sold through formal market channels, generating the reported income.
