According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), tourist arrivals have increased this month. For the month of November 2025, a total of 116,553 foreign tourists entered Nepal.
The country is reliant on tourism as a major industry due to its contribution of 7 to 8 per cent of its GDP. From January to November 2025, a total of 1,060,269 tourists visited Nepal. In October alone, which is considered the peak tourist season, 128,443 tourists visited the country. In comparison, 78,000 foreign tourists arrived in Nepal in September 2025, while 88,680 tourists visited in August.
Among the major source countries, India recorded the highest number of visitors with 18,995 tourists. Similarly, 11,254 tourists arrived from the United States, followed by 7,871 from China, 7,189 from the United Kingdom, 5,653 from Bangladesh, 5,393 from Australia, 4,831 from Sri Lanka, 4,484 from Myanmar, 4,211 from France, and 4,134 from Germany.
In a regional geography aspect, 30,870 tourists came from South Asian countries, 28,613 from other Asian countries, 5,891 from Europe, 13,678 from the Americas, 1,802 from Middle Eastern countries, 412 from Africa, and 6,269 from other countries, as per the data released by the NTB.
The sector has been steadily recovering after the 18.3 per cent drop in September, with the protests by the Gen Z generation, and November alone recorded an increase of 1.8 per cent.
This comes as a relief for Nepali hospitality sector that suffered damages due to Gen Z protests in early September as well as a good sign that tourists continue to view the country as a major tourism hub.
