A temporary polling station set up inside Baglung District Jail recorded a voter turnout of 96.36 per cent during the election.
Out of 55 registered voters at the jail polling centre in Baglung Municipality-1, a total of 53 inmates cast their ballots. The registered voters included 53 inmates and two staff members.
According to the jail administration, two individuals who were initially listed as voters did not participate. One inmate had been released after completing his sentence, while another was transferred to Kathmandu before the voting took place.
Officials overseeing the polling process reported that voting inside the jail concluded smoothly. After the completion of voting, preparations began to transport the sealed ballot boxes to the office of the Chief Election Officer.
However, the ballot boxes will only be handed over after discussions with representatives of the political parties, as part of the standard procedure to ensure transparency in the election process.
Across Baglung district, voting took place at 230 polling centres. The district has a total of 193,381 registered voters.
The high turnout inside the district jail reflects strong participation among eligible voters at the temporary polling centre.
