India has reaffirmed its commitment to supplying fuel and chemical fertilisers to Nepal, saying deliveries will continue as per existing agreements between the two countries.

Speaking during a weekly media briefing on Thursday, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described Nepal-India relations as “multi-dimensional” and said cooperation in trade and strategic sectors remains strong.

Responding to questions about the supply of essential commodities to Nepal, Jaiswal said petroleum products are being supplied smoothly under bilateral arrangements and that the process would continue in the coming days. He also assured that India would provide the chemical fertilisers required by Nepal. The statement comes as Nepal continues to rely heavily on India for key imports, particularly fuel and agricultural inputs.

Nepal recently signed a government-to-government agreement with India for the purchase of chemical fertilisers, while fuel imports have long been managed through a commercial partnership between Nepal Oil Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation.
