Kathmandu’s nightlife has gained fresh global attention as LOD Club secured the 40th position in the 2026 list of the world’s top DJ clubs.
The ranking, published by DJ Mag, is based on an annual global poll that features hundreds of nightlife venues from around the world. This year, more than 500 clubs competed for a place in the Top 100 list, making the recognition a notable achievement for Nepal’s entertainment scene.
Located in Kathmandu, LOD Club has steadily climbed the rankings over the past few years. It was placed 44th in 2025, 50th in 2024, 49th in 2023 and 52nd in 2022, showing consistent growth and increasing international visibility.
Club officials say the recognition reflects not just the venue’s success but also the growing presence of Nepal in the global music and nightlife industry. The ranking is expected to boost the country’s image as a destination for entertainment and tourism, drawing more international visitors and music enthusiasts.
The club’s rise has been linked to its focus on quality service, creative programming and strong team efforts. Organisers believe the achievement also signals the broader potential of Nepal’s nightlife sector, which remains closely tied to tourism.
As the global spotlight turns toward Kathmandu’s after-dark scene, industry observers see this recognition as a sign of changing perceptions—where Nepal is increasingly viewed not only for its natural landscapes but also for its evolving urban culture.
